CloudDon is heading to Google Cloud Next 2025

Google Cloud Next or KubeCon EU usually kick off the conference season in spring for me. It is Google Cloud Next this year. Here are the things I am looking forward to hearing more at the event (since we are under NDA, this post is intentionally lighter on details).
AI Agents
Before the industry started hyping AI Agents/ Agentic AI, Google Cloud was one of the earliest to talk about customized AI Agents — at Google Cloud Next 24. One of my questions to Thomas Kurien then was how Google Cloud differentiates between AI Agent and Copilot, which was unclear.
This was my take last year about their approach on AI Agents/ GenAI Stack:

However, I was also skeptical about their overall GenAI story, which I compared to an unfinished home. So, I am curious to see how far the home is complete.

Our research shows that more customers are actively considering investing more into AI Agents this year (an 8% increase from 2024 in respondents planning on investing $1M or more, and an overall increase in investments).

The industry has also moved incredibly this past year, but a few things are still in flux — pricing models for AI Agents, social impact/ job displacement/ replacement due to AI Agents, and building AI Agents responsibly, to name a few. Interesting times are ahead, and I look forward to hearing more about how Google Cloud will enable this AI Agents-led era at Google Cloud Next 2025. Give me a shout if you are there.
