CSB-001: Many Platforms, Small Fleets

Of 525 organizations surveyed in late 2024, 36% use AI agents. Those 188 agent users report using an average of 2.9 listed tools and platforms and 2.9 listed use-case categories. Separately, 52% report running five agents or fewer. At least 48% build on two or more of the three leading platforms: OpenAI (67%), Google Vertex (65%), and Microsoft Azure (64%). Among organizations with 1,000–4,999 and 5,000+ employees, average breadth is about the same, while the larger firms show greater agent depth and more custom-built platforms (32% against 11%). The survey shows broad multi-platform usage alongside relatively small agent fleets.
